Fall! Get ready for cooler weather, spectacular leaf colors and pumpkin spice everything with these 14 fabulous ways to get ready for Fall!

We are slowly getting back to normal here in Florida after Irma’s unwelcome visit. Kids start back to school after being out all last week, just about everyone has their power back, grocery stores have water again, and the gas stations have gas, too! Woo hoo!

It was certainly an eye-opener and valuable lesson learned to realize how much I take for granted, like electricity and water! And how awesome it is when people work together to make everyone’s burden a little lighter. I hope I don’t soon forget it. Especially since 3 more storms are now lurking out in the Atlantic. Go away, Jose, Lee, and Maria…

So, that brings me to Fall decorations.

Since we had to bring everything in before Irma, and it was safe to put things back, I decided I might as well fix up my front porch for Fall. So, yesterday the kids and I did just that. But, it was 90° and the humidity was back in full force. Yuck! This time of year makes me wonder why I live in Florida…

Can I just say I LOVE FALL! Please tell me you do, too!

The cooler weather, spectacular Fall colors, pumpkin spice everything, and getting to wear clothes with long sleeves and long pants without sweating to death! A real treat! 🙂

Anyway, we decided that just seeing the Fall decorations might help us feel a bit cooler. And it really did! 🙂 Fun (?) fact about Florida – we don’t get leaves changing here until January (because that’s when it gets cool enough to trigger the leaves to do so), so September – December is still green!

And that’s where decorating comes in.

I wanted to share with you some of my easy Fall decorating ideas, so you can get in the mood, too!

Adding Fall decor to your front porch is a great way to welcome Fall.

We pulled out our Fall wreaths for the front door, and the pumpkin topiaries I made last year.

Here’s my front door, all ready for Fall!

The topiaries were easy to make and held up well, stored in the garage, so I wanted to share my post on how I made them.

Psst… These are double duty topiaries!

The neat thing is that when I bought my plastic pumpkins, the small ones were actually jack-o-lanterns on one side and solid on the other. So, for Halloween I can just turn them around, and then turn them back afterwards, so I get to keep these topiaries up until after Thanksgiving.

Here is a close-up of the jack-o-lantern side:
