Looking for an inexpensive craft idea? Here are 10 clever crafts using plastic spoons including flowers, lamps, Christmas trees, and gorgeous wreaths!
I was at the dollar store recently and saw a display of different colored plastic spoons, and wondered what kinds of fun projects they could be used for. A quick search on Pinterest showed me lots of fun crafts using plastic spoons in all kinds of really neat ways.
Here are some of my favorites.
1. Sweet little flower pot.
(Made from a yogurt cup and plastic spoons)
2. Flower wreaths.
Sunflower (my favorite flower!).
Or this gorgeous Dahlia wreath.
I just love the colors in this one!
This lamp looks like it came straight out of Ikea.
Look at this fun pineapple lamp!
4. Cute little snowmen.
5. Silvery Christmas trees.
6. Beautiful water lilies.
Made from spoons and plastic bottles.
7. An elegant tealight holder.
(Made with fabric flower petals and spoons)
And some kiddie crafts.
(After all, I was a children’s librarian for 14 years and we did a lot of crafts at the library!)
9. Bugs on leaves.
An easy craft for Mother’s Day ( just attach to a homemade card)!
And lastly, this is kind of a teaser, because these dragon scale gauntlets I saw on Etsy use metal but I think they are really cool, and I could see substituting plastic spoons for the scales. I think if someone had the skills to knit or crochet the gauntlet part, it would simply be a matter of gluing on the spoons for the same effect, but alas, I can’t knit or crochet. 🙁 But if you try this and it works, please send me a photo – I’d love to see it!
Okay, time to head to the dollar store and stock up on spoons! How about you?
