Kids seem to accumulate tons of stuffed toys and it can be a real challenge to keep them neatly contained and organized.

Especially since they seem to multiply and take over a room the second you turn around!  With 3 kids, those stuffed animals can really take up a lot of space, and so here are some of my favorite ways to keep them easily accessible, yet neatly stored.

1. Store stuffed animals in an over the door shoe bag.

Over the door shoe bags (like these) are a great way to store lots of stuffed animals and be able to see them all at the same time. In fact, shoe bags are great for storage all over your house! Here are 25 ways to use them.

2. Turn them into bean bag chair filling!

What a fun idea! Use an empty bean bag chair cover to store all those stuffed animals. You can purchase them online (like these at Amazon) or make your own.  It works great to store big and little ones and all that stuffing makes one soft bean bag chair, too!

3. Make a no-sew stuffed animal hammock from a fitted crib sheet.

I love this idea since I can’t sew! Just tack or nail up the hammock on two walls and the back corner to create a cute toy hammock that will coordinate with the colors in the child’s room! Simple! (And it’s even better if you can recycle an old crib sheet instead.)

4. Use plastic crates from the dollar store to make a toy storage area.

Plastic crates are inexpensive and keep them all neatly contained. (Like these from Dollar Tree)

5. Make a swing shelf to display all those stuffed toys.

Uses pieces of pre-cut hobby wood, lath pieces, and rope. So cute!

How do we store stuffed toys at our house?

Now that my kids are older, we don’t have as many special stuffed toys as we used to, but there are still some that they just don’t want to get rid of.  So, our solution is to keep them all in a (well-loved & used) big bin in my son’s room – another easy solution! Usually it is tucked in the corner behind his papasan chair so it is accessible, but out of sight.
