August 27th is National Guinea Pig Day and in honor of this auspicious occasion, I wanted to share my family’s experiences with Guinea pigs.
This is Larry.
He is our current Guinea pig. Look at that face! What’s not to love?
We have had him for 5 years so far. We had our first Guinea pig, Penny, for 5 years, so we know a thing or two about raising them.
And, after 10 years of piggie experience, I am here to tell you that if you are looking for a gentle, friendly, easy-to-take-of pet, you can’t go wrong with a Guinea pig.
They have big personalities and make great pets.
So celebrate National Guinea Pig Day by reading more about piggies and their care in this post:
Celebrate National Guinea Pig day with your piggie by giving them a present.
Since a big part of a Guinea pig’s diet is Timothy hay, give them a simple hay box so they can munch to their heart’s content.
Have you ever had a pet Guinea pig? Do you have one (or more ) now? They are all so different and have their own personalities. Send me a picture or tell me about your piggy’s personality. I’d love to hear from you. 🙂
