Just a few more days until Thanksgiving. I have created one last printable for you, a printable Thanksgiving blessing journal. And I really feel it’s the most important of all. Thanksgiving is all about counting our many blessings and giving thanks for them all. Sometimes that can be easy, and sometimes it can be a challenge.
My pastor has set us a challenge for the month of November to keep a daily blessing journal. We are to write down at least one blessing that we have each day.
Each night before I go to bed I grab my journal (which is a simple spiral-bound notebook leftover from school supplies – very boring) and stop to think what I should write down for the day. Sometimes I feel kind of lame, because nothing immediately pops into my head. Some days the only thing I have written is feeling blessed by the gorgeous sunrise or sunset that day. Other times, it is gratefulness that I got to talk to my daughter, away at college. One was for getting to eat at my favorite pizza place! 😉
I felt kind of bad for only writing down what I thought were “little” blessings, but I have come to realize that not all blessing are huge.
Sometimes, they are the everyday things that we tend to take for granted. I am really grateful to my pastor for challenging us to take a few minutes to do this each day. It has really taught me to be more mindful of the many blessings I have.
Yes, Thanksgiving is almost here. But what better time to start counting your blessings, than the day dedicated to giving thanks?
So, this is my challenge to you. I have created a 30-day printable Thanksgiving blessing journal for you.
If you start on Thanksgiving Day, you will complete your 30-day blessing journal on December 23rd. Perfect timing to finish right before Christmas, but, really, you can start any time.
So, print out the sheets below (there are only 3) and put them by your bed. Each night for the next 30 days, think about your day. Write down at least one thing that made you feel good, that was a blessing. I think you, too, will start noticing those blessings more and more often. And, perhaps, noticing the things that are a frustration less and less. Because really, every day should be a Thanks-giving day, don’t you think?
