Happy Watermelon Day! What? You didn’t know there’s a national watermelon day? ย Well, it’s August 3rd! Here are some fun recipes & crafts to help you celebrate!

Biting into some juicy watermelon is probably most people’s vision of a perfect summer day. Watermelon is my daughter’s favorite food ever.  So she is very excited about this auspicious day.  Me? Well, for those of you who know me, you know I don’t like watermelon.  I know, I know…but I don’t.

So this post includes recipes and ideas for those who do like watermelon and also some for all of you who, like me, don’t like the taste of watermelon but still want to celebrate Watermelon Day!

So, since I do want to celebrate a good food holiday, I have found some recipes that look like watermelon but don’t CONTAIN watermelon ๐Ÿ˜‰

Happy Watermelon Day recipes that don’t have watermelon in them:

Strawberry Kiwi Fruit Pizza.

Cookie crust, sweetened cream cheese filling, luscious strawberries, kiwi, and chocolate chips.

Easy recipe made with white chocolate chips and Funfetti colored frosting – yum!

Super duper easy sweet vanilla fudge with chocolate chips. And, oh yeah! It looks like watermelon! Perfect for summer time :)

So, at the beginning of this post, I mentioned how much my daughter LOVES watermelon, so with her permission, I will leave you with a picture of her from several years ago at Ft. DeSoto beach (which you should visit if you are ever here in the Tampa area).  She looks serious about that watermelon, doesn’t she? ๐Ÿ˜‰
